Figure Out Your Power Usage
Another home/office fan or dehumidifier or air conditioner costs gripe or row? Just do it smoothly. A three speed industrial floor fan using a motor with 1.35 Amps at 120 volts ... Multiply the volts times the Amps ..that's about 205 watts. Then multiply the watts by the Kilowatt factor or divide it - thats about .2 KW. Then multiply that times the rate per Kilowatt ... ie 17 cents times .2 about 4 cents to run that fan per hour. The USA's Transprtation Security Agency was on my mind toda, and as a lawyer, Debrief, reviewed the law; but there was no regulation to sustain it - specifically. Instead, there is an amibiguous set of Federal Regulations which affect airline passenger & cargo screening They give the TSA some scope - but not that scope. No where is the list specifically empowered; nor a way to contest it -save the broader contests for necessary information to determine the rationality and justification of the listing. That's not America. The TSA now has an Ombudsman -justified somewhere maybe by later regulations I gaven't read (they have to be published to apply) or the office is just a super-scoop for public humour justified by all of the above. If interested the ACLU -the American Civil Liberties Union- last April 2004, filed a challenging class action seeking the lists invalidation on constitutional grounds. upport them if desired -they're ultimately the best and cheapest law firm on liberty. | What used to be a ready reference at the US State Department has been obfuscated by bad practice at the State Department. The Diplomatic Register, common in all countries lists Diplomats accredited to a host country. Those diplomats are accredited with special immunity against arrest, taxation, etc. As Diplomats, however, they may not engage in enterprise, offer and seek employment for enterprise or otherwise commercially venture for a business. United Nations Diplomats are accredited to the UN and also listed at the State Department with the same restrictions. The Diplomatic register is available freely at the link above under another title. Lest enforce internaional law, and where necessary 'PNG' persona non grata violators. |
